As a society we are more medicated than any point in human history, as such deaths associated with the pharmaceutical industry are 3x higher than the U.S. murder rate, which is falling. This is a trend will only continue in the coming years and decades. The NIH numbers are alarming.
We overcame the tobacco lobby to ban cigarette ads because they kill. Whereas most prescription drug ads will state that death is a side effect in the same manner they list a rash as a side effect. This should be alarming but we accept it, as we accept fries with that order.
Mr. President if you can not ban these ads, as the Public Health Cigarette Smoking Act banned those ads. Please at least ban ads were death is listed as a side effect. We need to let Doctors decide our health options. We need reform!
