We The People propose restricting the pay of all public servants to the median pay of the PUBLIC. We need what out forefathers deemed Citizen Legislators. We should not have to be independently wealthy to get elected to office. The median personal income of the country can be calculated from prior years tax returns and our public servants will receive a raise when the constituents they serve get a raise and vis versa.
Not only would this reduce deficits across the country, it would also put the people in control of public policy on par with the majority of Americans.
