Limit all publicly elected positions maximum pay to no more than the median income of the area the represent.

The work of our politicians is constantly sub-par. In an attempt to cut budgets as well as give publicly elected officials a reason to better the area they represent, It would be beneficial for all publicly elected officials make no more than the median income of the area the are representing. This would effectively give these elected officials a purpose to increase the area they are presenting, it would also be a performance indicator for their time in office. Should they make more pay at the end of their term in comparison to when they started it would show an overall increase in the standard of living in the area.
