to limit the amount money spent on weapons for police as well as greater transparency into how these weapons are used.

For safety of civilians, police officers should only be allowed to use weapons that are suitable for the area in which they are protecting. In that I mean weapons such as snipers, machine gun and other military weapons should only be preserved for those police officer who are protecting areas which weapons of similar or higher quality are being used. Their should also be higher scrutiny given to police once he shoots his/her gun.
