Limit and Repeal NAFTA

Created by S.B. on December 13, 2013

NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) was created to allow products to be imported into the United States free of any tariffs. American manufacturers have wisely relocated factories to where United States minimum wage laws, unemployment insurance requirements, Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) requirements, and worker's compensation laws were more favorable. This has proven to be a blatantly one-sided arrangement. It is time the United States again exercise trade policy that is in the best interest of the majority of the American people by immediately taking steps to withdraw from NAFTA and fully phase out all participation of NAFTA over a reasonable period of time. In the meantime the President should exercise executive power to mitigate the damage to the American economy.
