I propose either legislation or a constitutional amendment that would limit donations or financial support to political candidates and issues to only registered voters.
This would markedly change the focus and purpose of our political campaigns. Those seeking to retain or become an elected official would have to focus on the electorates needs and wants rather than corporate interests.
It should also limit the maximum donations to $250,000 per individual and letting that limit be adjusted annually by an inflation index.
This should effectively void the effects of the "Citizens United" decision.
