Every four years we elect another President. Someone who "represents the people". However, the funding needed to become the President is NOT representative of America as a whole. Hundreds of millions of dollars are raised for the top tier candidates, being pumped into advertising.
Should a presidential campaign rely solely on the media? Should we be influenced by the amount of television exposure a candidate receives? No. The presidential campaign should be free and open to all, regardless of wealth. Government needs to limit the amount of commercials a candidate can air and the amount of funding a presidential candidate can receive; putting lobbyists out of business and giving each candidate a fair chance.
