The United States Congress is not doing its job. Democrats and Republicans both are out of touch with the public they are supposed to be representing. This is not about party.
I can sleep at night taking a privilege away from 535 people when 314 million of us are dependent upon them. Most of us do much more work for far fewer benefits anyway.
This is not fair.
The tax dollars that are taken from your hard work are paying for people who cannot be bothered to do theirs (both in the budget that they can't handle, and in their bloated salaries).
In addition, we would see a higher turnover rate of representation, because who wants to serve 10 or 20 terms when they miss out on the perk that so many of us aren't afforded?
Representing us should be a public service, not a cushy job.
