Limit on elected officials' pay and limit on contributions to elected officials

Acknowleding elected officials are public servants who represent the average American, the following is proposed:

- Newly elected members of Congress will receive a salary equal to the median income of the average American.

- Yearly pay raises will be commensurate with the average payraises offered in the private sector, but at no time will the yearly sum, as a result of the pay raise, exceed ten percent of the average American's median income.

- Upon effect of this petition, all members of Congress will receive pay equal to the median income of the average American. Payraises will proceed as described above.

- Contributions to any campaign for a Congressional seat is limited to ten percent of the monthly median income of the average American in any given thirty-day period.
