Every 4 years Corporations and Special Interest Groups spend billions of dollars trying to elect 'their' candidate to the White House. Those same organizations expect the American people to believe after spending billions, that 'their' candidate when elected, will not govern in their favor. I don't buy it. 'Everyone', including you and I, expect something for our money. So what do their billions buy? Perhaps executive orders and signing of bills which are beneficial to one industry and not another. Not in the best interests of the voters.
In 2010 the Supreme Court radically altered the landscape for politics in case of Citizens United v. FEC. This ruling distorted the 1st Amendment by granting free speech to corporations. The way that corporations “speak” is by spending money.
