Handguns are responsible for most murders in the USA, tens of thousands every year. In fact, knives are used to kill people in the USA more than rifles & shotguns, so clearly handguns are the problem, not all guns. By allowing folks to buy unlimited amounts of guns at the same time, we keep alive the illegal gun industry, where folks buy lots of handguns in Southern states that have loose gun laws, and bring them up north to sell in cities with strict gun laws, where criminals can't easily buy them. If we limit handgun purchases to one per month, we put a huge dent in the illegal handgun market...and save lives.
