For the next seven years, beginning in Fiscal Year 2014, pay raises for both the House and Senate will be limited to sixty percent (60%) of military pay raises. For example, if the military gets a 1% pay raise in FY2014, Congress will get a 0.006% pay raise. A Senator making $174,000.00 per year would now get $175,044.00 after the example pay raise.
Per Diem rates will concurrently be lowered by the same percentages.
