In the wake of yet another shooting tragedy in America, we propose, in order to curb copycat incidents and the inadvertent glorification of such heinous acts, to limit the scope of media coverage of such events. Further, to spare already grieving families and communities and preserve a level of common decency, we propose to limit access of media to the the site and victims. A starting point for these limits is the following:
1. The name of the shooter cannot be disclosed.
2. Photos of the shooter cannot be shown.
3. Details of the events cannot be disclosed.
4. Media will not be allowed within one mile of the scene.
5. Media will not be permitted to contact anyone directly involved with the incident.
