A limit on the number of guns that may be purchased at one time (and within a specific timeframe) will reduce the ability of criminals to purchase multiple guns for illegal sales to other criminals. This limit would not infringe on 2nd amendment rights to purchase guns but it would have the potential to reduce the transport of multiple guns across state or international borders. In conjunction with universal background checks, this action could reduce gun violence (or at least the availability of illegally purchased guns) in our cities. The limit should not apply to licensed gun dealers. Congress can work with interested parties to determine an appropriate (specified) timeframe - perhaps one gun per month.
