That average has climbed almost $11,000 from the 2000 average of $63,445 (2010 dollars). The top 1000 federal civilian employees all get paid over $216,000 per year. This doesn't even include members of Congress or the Executive Branch. Until the national debt is paid in full, all federal employee pay (both civilian and non-civilian) should be scaled back to a maximum pay of $85,000 per year.
