Limit political campaign length

Created by J.D. on January 08, 2016

The amount of time and money wasted in the American political system is appalling. Nothing exemplifies this more then the Presidential race. Most candidates are already in elected positions that they should be focusing their attention on. Instead they are campaigning around the country for eighteen months to almost two years.

Modern technology has provided a way to instantly spread information, and there is no need for political campaigns to drag out like they have. We need to put a limit on the amount of time someone can campaign for public office. The limit should allow adequate time for primaries and debates. I would propose a limit that starts six months before the election day. The first three months for the primary election process, and the second half for presidential election.
