As one of the motivations for these type of tragedies is the notoriety that is generated by the media, and as the media have the motivation to plaster the most sensational aspects of a tragedy all over our TV's and on the internet, I propose that it be illegal to report about the perpetrator of any of these types of events.
The media will be allowed to report on the event, even report on the destruction of so many innocent lives, but they will not be able to make the shooter a household name.
Let us shun these people. Alive or dead, let their names never be spoken of again, and maybe, just maybe another massacre will be avoided.
For those who would say that this violates our freedom of speech, I equate this reporting to shouting fire in a packed theater.
