I petition for a budgetary law limiting congressional pay to the national average wage index as computed by the Social Security Administration.
Since Congress has direct control over the US budget and can affect laws over their own pay and compensation I believe their pay should be pegged to the nation average. I also believe that if their pay is limited to the national average they would be more incentivized to protect the middle class and careful about economic laws to could affect the middle class and their prosperity.
A law such as this might also create an environment where people will want to be elected to congress to serve their country and the people instead of for personal gain. I also believe this will positively disrupt the lifetime politicians and political class.
