Limit Social Security Benefits based on income and net worth

Created by J.S. on December 24, 2012

Curtailing eligibility to collect Social Security based either or both of what their income or net worth is. Say if a person eligible for Social Security makes over $250,000 per year of income of any kind, or a person’s net worth is over $3,000,000 (not counting their home) they would not receive any Social Security checks.

The government bases the monthly premium one pays for Medicare based on their income, so why not do the same thing with Social Security. Medicare has a sliding scale for premiums all based on income, the more income, the higher the premium.

Does former President Jimmy Carter really need to receive Social Security? How about George H. W. Bush, Nancy Reagan, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett or other wealthy people.
