limit stock market trading to once each second to mitigate the problems of high-frequency trading.

Created by C.E. on June 21, 2013

High-Frequency Trading (HFT) is a process where computers execute many trades in the stock market in a matter of milliseconds, far faster than humans can think. These trades do not add value to the system, but extract it by exploiting loopholes (http://huff.to/129vy3N) - cheating. This hurts not only the American people without these means, but also the economy as a whole. In addition, the algorithms that determine when to make trades can exacerbate - and even cause - financial disasters that would never happen if humans were making the decisions.

A practical solution is to time all trades to execute once per second, slowing down computers but not humans. Please study this issue and propose a bill to Congress that would help end this damaging and potentially catastrophic process.
