Limit the term of Senators and Congressmen to 8 years

Nothing will ever get done in government while members of Congress' main objective is to get re-elected. They are constantly putting their own welfare above the needs of the American people. This job was not intended to be a lifetime position when the founding fathers wrote our constitution. I ask that the proposal of term limits be put to vote on the ballot for citizens to decide. As long as it is left to congress, they will never vote for losing their jobs
