This petition is to have term limits for congressmen and women to be added to the constitution. A lot of the corruption from Washington is allowed to thrive because of those who serve several terms. The corruption won't go away from the term limits being added but it will make it much harder for it to take root.
Case studies have been done that show that the longer an official is in office the more likely they will stop serving the public who elected them.
Term limits will also help bring fresh ideas and a wider diversity to the government. It will also help bring the average citizen back into government, possibly causing more community involvement and bringing more people out to vote.
