In order to preserve the democracy of the United States it is in our best interest to limit the number of terms a Senator or Congressman/woman may serve. Term limits are a necessary political reform needed to bring new perspectives to Congress, mandate frequent legislative turnover, and diminish incentives for wasteful election-related federal spending that currently flourish in a careerist congressional culture.Term limits are necessary to prevent corruption and scandal from infiltrating our American political system just as the President is limited for the same reasons. Two terms is long enough to speak for your constituents and move on, allowing new ideas to rotate throughout our political system. If progress is what we are in search of, term limits are what we are in desperate need of.
