Limit the types of food that can be bought under SNAP to be healthy and have specific nutritional value limits.

Created by S.W. on June 04, 2013

Families who benefit from SNAP and other food programs should have limits to what is purchased on the card.

Healthy eating is a necessity for keeping down health care costs. If we are feeding families who aren't paying for or working for the food, they should not be allowed to get whatever they desire, such as junk food. These families are also more likely to be on public welfare with their health care.

If we can get them to eat better by limiting non-healthy foods, we can keep down weight and improve blood lab values like Cholesterol. Keeping families healthier will lower health care costs due to unhealthy living.
