We need to end the idea of a career politician. A career politician does not have to worry about his/her legacy term after term, because there is always a next term to cement that legacy. This leads to Senators and House of Representatives to forgo the immediacy of doing what is right, but rather do what is necessary to keep them elected. This leads to a group of men that are afraid to do what is necessary, popular or not, for the country to thrive.
Imagine a politician who is unfettered from spending half of their own time to raise contributions for their own campaign for their next reelection.
We are describing politicians who can finally vote with their conscious, and not with the repercussions of who may or may not donate next term?
