Limit the use of photo-shop of the human body within ads pertaining to body image (i.e. diet, makeup and clothing ads)

Created by M.T. on April 27, 2014

Many Americans continuously feel pressured to look a certain way. This need is perpetuated by social media and advertisements. Due to the use of photo-shop within these medias, the notion of what is deemed beautiful in society has been distorted. It is virtually impossible to attain what is observed within these mediums because they have been photo-shopped and engineered to look a specific way. Many Americans are going to extremes, developing eating disorders, and putting their bodies at harm in goals of achieving what is deemed by society as beautiful. This petition is to ban the distortions of the human body within advertisements that pertain to image such as makeup, clothing, and diet ads.
