Regulating corporate bonuses, giving shareholders a say in executive pay, and banning or regulating golden hellos and goodbyes could have many positive effects, including helping to avert the need for government bailouts and opening up millions of dollars for job creation. Allowing executive salaries to reach record levels has done little or nothing to lower unemployment in America. We, the People do not want to prevent individuals from becoming affluent, as this is the American dream. Instead, regulate the ability of already affluent executives and corporate board members to increase their salaries and give themselves bonuses.
