Line Item Veto Power for the President, as requested by both Republican and Democrat presidents over the years

Created by K.M. on September 22, 2011

Presidents, both Republican and Democrat, have requested that Congress pass legislation allowing the President to have the ability to veto line items in legislation passed by Congress. To allow the President the power to cut entitlements or "Pork" which are tacked onto legislation, would be an effective way to control government spending while allowing important legislation to become law.
