listen to different ideas about immigration reforms!

i strongly suggest a new point of view on immigration reform, particularly on undocumented immigrants.
As a foreign student in singapore, i can strongly feel the feeling they experience to take a high risk and come for this nation for a better life. it's correct to say that illegal immigration should not be encouraged but we also need to stand on their shoes and think for them.
what i suggest is for those existing undocumented immigrants, instead of asking them to pass a long background check and procedure, we can request them to volunteer in their local community for certain hours or participate in one or two local community volunteer project. if they can fullfill these criteria, that means they have a heart to contribute and serve this nation and they should be granted a green card.
