We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Listen to the professional drivers that move this nation

Created by S.B. on July 06, 2016

The trucking industry is one of the most heavily regulated in our country, but the rights of the drivers are given little consideration by lawmakers. Parking shortages run rampant, driver shortages continue to rise due to the low wages and long hours and heavy regulations imposed almost arbitrarily by lawmakers that often are not, never have been, and never will be associated with, or experienced in, the job of a professional truck driver. It is considered unskilled labor until a wreck occurs, when a driver will have more responsibility placed upon them. I ask that lawmakers consider the needs of these working people and take organizations like OOIDA more seriously when addressing industry concerns rather than what works on paper. Let drivers do the job they know best. What is being done?
