This is getting ridiculous. Neither party is even 100% close to being correct on this issue, and at the same time neither party will budge from their positions. Aside from a few posturing moves towards "agreement" before Christmas, no real progress has been made.
I propose that we treat Congress in such a manner that reflects their actions, as children. Literally lock them inside the Capitol Building together, maybe their forced contact (oh no! they actually have to talk to each other) will normalize the issue a bit. Make them reach a deal and allow this country to move on from all the ridiculous political hyperbole that has poisoned our political system.
