The federal minimum wage in the United States is $7.25. I challenge all government officials who publicly oppose a better minimum wage for our workers to try and live on this salary for one month. For one month, you will only have approximately $1160.00, distributed twice over the month. You would be making the smallest amount legally possible in the United States. All payments including transportation, rent, groceries, even your laundry. Hopefully you will experience a bit of the stress and hardships that the majority of the citizens who elected you are forced to endure everyday.
