1. The LLPR can live and work legally in the USA. Bring out of the shadows, curtail exploitation, take away fear of removal from USA.
2. LLPR status will not apply to the minor children smuggled into USA under a certain age. If the parent(s) achieve LLPR status, qualifying children receive regular Lawful Permanent Resident status (LPR = Greencard). These children can become citizens one day if they so desire.
3. The LLPR is ineligible for U.S. citizenship. LLPR status not a reward to lawbreakers, one political party won’t receive windfall of new voters, meaningfully distinguish LLPR status from regular LPR status granted to those who legally immigrated to the USA.
4. The LLPR cannot file a petition or application for a relative to immigrate to the USA, thereby stemming chain migration.
