lobby the International Olympic Committee to keep the sport of wrestling in the Olympic program.

Created by A.B. on February 13, 2013

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) recently voted to remove the sport of Wrestling and Greco-Roman wrestling from Olympic competition starting in 2020.
The sport, having been part of the Olympics since it's modern inception and before in the ancient games is a key part of the Olympic experience.
Wrestling and Greco-Roman Wrestling is a fine model of competition and real world diplomacy.
Wrestling has brought together waring nations; and in a real way has been a calming influence. For an example, during the "cold war" men competing on the mat helped humanize each culture and brought the USSR and USA closer.
Wrestling in an important part of international sport and the White House should help preserve its important influence through direct lobbying of the IOC.
