Given that Qatar is a supporter of terrorist groups, the U.S. should build/lead a coalition to petition FIFA to at least threaten to take away the 2022 FIFA World Cup from Qatar. The NFL threatened to take away the Super Bowl from Arizona for a transgression far less than Qatar's transgressions. We know that Qatar has provided a lot of funding for Hamas, designated by the U.S. (and others) as a terrorist organization. Additionally, Qatar is brazenly fueling violent Arab uprisings, including the brief and bloody reign in Egypt of the Muslim Brotherhood, and is long alleged to be arming vicious rebel groups in Libya, Mali, Syria, Iraq, and Tunisia. It should be noted that Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates have all recalled their ambassadors from Qatar for these reasons.
