The people of the United States hereby petition our government to appoint an independent investigation into the illegal targeting of conservative groups' applications for tax-exempt status. I personally believe that the idea for increased oversight was generated within our executive branch, with the goal in mind to hinder and prevent certain organizations from forming and raising money that could have an impact on the 2012 elections. This breach of trust has undermined whatever faith many of us had in our government, and we need to uncover how these completely un-American actions by the IRS were allowed to be carried out.
