Long-term disabilities law bill needs to be established.

Created by D.G. on March 22, 2012

Currently, employees long term disability plans are governed under the retirement laws of ERISA. Supreme Court case of MetLife vs Glenn determined that insurance companies of the employer shall not have the right to make final decision on those who claim long-term disability. The Supreme Court decision stated, that a new and separate law that address' long-term disability claims needs to be established. It should not take many years to fight for approval. Those who are disabled are being treated unfairly and insurance companies have a right to say that the disabled person can be taken off long term disability, contradicting their primary physician statement. Disabled individuals, should be governed under ADA laws and be protected under these laws. ERISA pertains to 401K retirement plans.
