look into the financial feasibility of outfitting the United States Postal Service (USPS) with a fleet of hybrid trucks

Created by T.L. on December 08, 2012

It is no secret that many of the USPS trucks spend a large amount of their operational time simply idling in front of mailboxes, burning fossil fuels (gasoline or diesel) without any actual work being accomplished. One possible way of reducing USPS operating costs might be to replace the entire fleet of mail trucks with hybrid vehicles, which would use little or no fossil fuel while the driver is delivering the mail, or even between mailboxes on residential routes.
