look into the financial feasibility of switching from proprietary computer operating systems to FOSS OSes (ex Linux)

Created by T.L. on December 08, 2012

Proprietary computer operating systems - such as Microsoft Windows - have significant expenses associated with them, including - but not limited to - licensing costs and security. An analysis should be performed to see which - if any - alternative computer operating systems, such as Linux or BSD, would be a more economical solution for the American infrastructure, including vital military systems and national defense networks, as they may be far less vulnerable to malware and attack.
