Look into having Congress work for the federal minimum wage, which currently sits at $7.25/hr.

Created by E.P. on March 31, 2013

The current minimum wage is $7.25/hr, which if you do the math is well below the poverty line, even at 40 hours worked in a week for a full year. What I and my poor grammar are proposing is that congress work for this same wage, with no overtime mind you. Every hour that they work earns them $7.25. Congress should not be allowed to raise their own rate of pay while millions struggle just to get by. This is America. I should not have to work two jobs, or split an apartment with someone just to pay the bills. I work much harder than every single last Congress(wo)man. I destroy my body for never more than $20,000 a year. All I ask is that we all be paid a decent wage that we can live on while still being able to afford nice things.
