Cases of police brutality and complete disregard for the constitution have been popping up all over the country. We cannot have law enforcement that does not give the public their essential liberties guaranteed to them by our United States Constitution. Only we have the ability to bring this subject to light and bring the officers to justice. Furthermore, the lax standards for those "keeping the peace" are not cutting it. Higher standards may attract more qualified individuals for the positions, which is exactly what America needs. One thing to consider is the difference in standards between the Fire Department and the Police Department, and the corresponding fitness/intelligence of each group's respective employees.
