Look seriously at the standards set for teachers and amounts they are paid, as well as how students are taught.

Created by E.P. on January 13, 2013

Standards for teachers are not set high enough, plain and simple. Not only that, but there should be a certain standard of professionalism in the classroom, just like any other job. Students should not be condescended to or patronized, and teachers should maintain a certain level of emotional maturity at all times in class. It does not matter how terrible the students are acting. There is a difference between being stern and being antagonistic. If an employee was often openly rude to customers in any other job or field, that employee would be fired. This petition feels harsh to write, but it is a real issue.
Also, Here is a video in which author John Green teaches on a topic and is engaging doing it. This kind of engaging teaching style is not in enough classrooms. http://bit.ly/WQuTS7
