To look into the use of strong arm tactics, by the police, when arresting persons with mental illness.

Created by M.P. on January 12, 2013

It has been brought to my attention that two states Oregon and Texas have use strong arm tactics when dealing with people that are mentally ill and in their custody. Both assaults have resulted in bodily injury to the individual. This kind of behavior on the police part is unacceptable within the confines of the law. A person with mental illness cannot always control their behavior but to punch, kick, throw on the ground or slammed into an elevator wall is unacceptable behavior. I ask that a serious investigation into these allegations be taken.
