Throughout history, Puerto Rico's economy has had its ups and now. As history, yet again, repeats itself the island is in another moment of crisis. Not only is there unemployment but low salary and careless government officials who have passed many insidious laws in order to get the money they need to pay their debt. Police officers give tickets for everything and aren't protecting the people. Everything done in the island by the government is not for our benefit but for theirs. Now the governor has decided to raise the tax from 7% to 16%, more than double the amount, forcing us to contribute in the paying of our debt. This will cause hunger, illness, and for our kids who are our future, illiteracy at a really fast rate. It's time to make a change.
