Lower the age of big game hunting for youth hunters to 12 years old in New York State giving them a chance to hunt deer.

Created by F.K. on October 13, 2011

There are many youth hunters in New York State that cannot hunt deer because they are under the age of 14. Small game hunting is allowed at the age of 12 though. I believe that you should be able to hunt all size game at the age of 12. It gives the youth hunters more opportunity to hunt deer. By law parents are supposed to be with the child if they are under 16 to begin with so parents will ensure the safety of the child. Therefore there is no difference between big game and small game hunting. So the age to hunt both should both be 12.
