We sixteen year-olds are often thought of as naive, and that we do not know what is best for us, and to an extent this is true, however, in certain circumstances, we should be given more freedom than we have. We can already join the workforce. We can drive. We can take care of ourselves, as we do have the capability to think rationally. Furthermore in the small chance, something bad were to happen, we would, to the best of our abilities, do the right thing. We would like the change to occur as we are not children who need everything, but adults without liberties.
