If the retirement age in the US was lowered to full retirement at age 55, some but not all of our eligible citizens would take advantage of it. This would free up jobs for the younger people to fill, give Social Security at a reduced rate to more people and put more people under the Medicare umbrella. People would be able to live their lives as they see fit, working or retiring, they would spend money and inject more into the economy making the US a better place for us all.
