People become widows for many reasons at young ages , some have young children and some don't but the fact remains we not only lose our loved one , we also lose one income and everything we work so hard for after a lifetime of paying into social security.
There is no age limit for becoming a widow , there should be no age limit to be eligible for survivor's benefits providing the spouse has worked long enough to qualify for social security , survivors benefits should not be based on age.
