College tuition increases every year and students leave college with a massive debt they are unable to rid themselves of. The cost of college is far too high for some families to pay for. As a result teens with low income families simply don't have the same opportunities children from high income families do. This makes college, in general, a huge bureaucracy benefiting only a portion of the population based on wealth rather than potential. The societal influences rooted from this are deleterious, and it is in our best interest to make college attainable to everyone.
