Lower Congressional incomes before furloughing hard working government employees.

Created by N.G. on March 02, 2013

My Father is a neuropsychologist working for the Navy. Everyday he goes to work to help veterans and military personnel reclaim their lives from mental illness. He faces a 20% pay and hours cut. More than just my dad, many civilian workers, who often have lower incomes and are single parents, face hours and wage cuts despite the difference they make to our country. The Congress has been undeniably irresponsible fiscally for over 8 years. They refuse to develop a progressive, long term solution to the countries monetary concerns. This furlough is nothing more than a delay tactic, that allows them to push the issue off for several more months. Why should government employees pay for it? The Congress men and women should demonstrate leadership and lower their incomes first.
